The Abraham Lincoln Center for Character Development offers training classes for all levels of experience with Character Development initiatives. Each class is based on solid principles and includes many practical examples, no matter what “program” you are using.

Introduction to CHARACTER COUNTS!
CHARACTER COUNTS! is the most widely used character education framework in DuPage County (and the country). This course provides an overview of the Six Pillars of Character with practical ideas for integration into many aspects of school and community life.

Building Character in Today’s World
This course provides an understanding of implementing a character education initiative using the CHARACTER COUNTS! framework and the practical applications of the CEP Eleven Principles of Character.

Enhancing Character Development Through Data Analysis
This workshop is designed to help school and community teams analyze the data from the Global Portraits of Social and Moral Health Survey. Workshop participants will work through analysis exercises and begin creating a strategic plan based on the data.

Smart & Good High Schools Regional Institute
In this session, Drs. Tom Lickona & Matt Davidson present the research findings from the recent Report to the Nation for Smart & Good High Schools. This is for high school staff and administration who are interested in how to develop Excellence and Ethics for success in school, work and beyond.

Staff Development Workshops
The Lincoln Center for Character Development is able to provide customized staff development workshops to meet the character development needs of individual schools and districts.

Cathy Fisher, Teaching and Learning Coordinator for Maercker District 60 in Clarendon Hills, IL and an experienced national trainer.
CPDUs will be available for educators but courses are designed for all community members.

Classes are held at the ARAMARK Regional Offices, 2300 Warrenville Rd. Downers Grove, IL 60515 Registration fees include materials and breaks, but lunches are on-your-own and available at the excellent on-site ARAMARK cafeteria. ARAMARK has a “business casual” dress code.

Nearby landmarks: South of the Morton Arboretum (off Rt. 53), just south of I-88 and I-355. Just west of Finley. Two miles east of Rt. 53 (Hyatt hotel). One block north of Ogden (near the Illinois Tollway Headquarters).
From N or S on I-355, exit onto Ogden and go east to Short St. (traffic light before Finley). Turn left and go N one block to Warrenville Rd. Turn right (E) and ARAMARK is on the left.
From E on I-88, exit Rt. 53 South. Right after underpass, turn left onto Warrenville Rd. Go two miles, ARAMARK is on left before Finley.
From W on I-88, exit Naperville Rd. Turn left (N) one block to Warrenville Rd. Go six miles (cross Rt. 53) ARAMARK is on left before Finley.
